The Bruisers, who just finished their fourth season, said hosting such a competition is a natural progression for the league.
“This is another eager step for us to put the Bruisers on the national map of competition and show our dedication to this organization as we step away from our city and reach out to Green Bay,” said Servin’ Justice, Vice President of the Bruisers’ Board of Directors. ”We will make the WFTDA, Green Bay and all roller derby fans across the nation proud!”
Each fall, the WFTDA organizes four regional qualifier tournaments to determine who will compete in November’s national championship. The top ten teams in each of the four regions compete in the playoffs and the top three from each tournament move on to vie for 1st place.
The North Central Region include teams from St. Louis, MO, Bloomington, IN, Cleveland, OH, Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, Detroit, MI, Fort Wayne, IN, Dayton, OH, Grand Rapids, MI, Hamilton, Ontario, Madison, WI, St. Paul, MN, Indianapolis, IN, Minneapolis, MN, Columbus, OH, Omaha, NE, Sioux Falls, SD and Chicago, IL.
